Hi Joe,
I was one of the counselors from ELM camp who took part in the kayaking lessons at Lincoln Woods last week. I just wanted to let you know what a great time we had, and what a fabulous job Tim and Derek did (I was only there M-W, so I never kayaked with you, but I heard Thursday was great, as well). We were very impressed with their professional, yet fun manner. They struck a perfect balance between teaching skills and safety and allowing the kids to have a good time in their boats. Their activities and emphasis on teamwork brought our group of campers closer together. We really enjoyed the entire experience, and just wanted to say thank you to all of you.

TO THE EMS KAYAK SCHOOL
A big thank you for the wonderful EMS Leadership clinic on Saturday.
Joe could not have done better, Derek too. it was a great combination of leadership/fun/direction/safety,keep it moving, contingency, flexibility, and reading the audience.
And it was interesting as our group was not just learning about leadership, - we were a group of folks who were hungry, cold, saturated, scared, tired, young, old, etc.
Kudos to EMS Kayak School for such an excellent program, and excellent instructors.
As you know - after taking your leadership/safety clinic in 2009, one of our leaders did indeed rescue a overturned kayaker - using the information he learned in your program.

Hi Peter!
We just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you again and let you know what a great pleasure it was meeting and learning from you! You really made the experience a truly outstanding one! We learned so much from what you taught us and had a lot of fun practicing it yesterday when we got home! You know we are dedicated when we take a 5 hour drive home then head right out to the Connetquot River to practice – especially given the 25mph winds!!! Fortunately, no wet exits this time!!
I have posted all the pictures I took on shutterfly. You will get a separate email from Shutterfly with a link to the picture site. I’m not sure what restrictions EMS IT puts on your email accounts, but I would assume they would reject a mail of the size necessary to send then directly!! Here is one for your immediate gratification!
With our trips up to Canada in June and July and then down to Maryland to pick up the new kayak, I don’t think we will get up to Rhode Island before your surgery, so will have to wait until next year to get some more of your outstanding instruction! We haven’t been up to Rhode Island, it would be an interesting trip! A new place to try out our skills (or lack of them in my case J )
BTW – thanks for the lead on the Killarney House Irish Pub! We had a nice pint of Guinness and very tasty dinner!

Hi Peter,
Just wanted to thank you and Joe again for a wonderful weekend! I am not sure if Karren shared the photos with you, but I posted a bunch of them (about 150) to our Meetup site. If you have not seen them, I am sure there is some way Karren can give you access; you may need a Meetup account. They are definitely worth the look - Jennifer did some neat stuff with a couple of the group shots and made a little video of the pictures set to music too - she is so creative!

Hey Peter:
I can't thank you enough for today. I have received emails from EVERYONE who attended talking about how fabulous it was-and comments EACH time about your team. Seriously, we do a lot of activities and your group has been the best-not even anyone as a close second.
Please thank EMS also for the coupon. We do lots of different sports and it helped out. From just 5 of us, we spent close to $1,400 due to this event. Some used the coupon, some did not, some went when there was a sale and didn't need the coupon-but all went to EMS (George is a GREAT embassador for you). It was appreciated and I think it helps folks to know where to go for gear.
We very much look forward to to working with your team on many future events. I am also serious about the $5 year sponsorship. My way of thanking you-and beside, it would be beneficial for our group of 242 (just formed July 23rd) to know where to go for gear for all the different activites we have. We have cross country skiing coming up and snowshoeing. I am sure they will all being buying gear-links to gear would be helpful for them.
