100 Acre Cove Tour

NEW for 2010!
  • 3 hour saltwater marsh tour
  • Wildlife viewing
  • Terrapin turtles
  • Snowy Egrets
  • Ospreys
  • Guided Eco-tour
  • Sunset and Moonlight paddles available!

  • Tour one of Barrington’s quintessential salt water marshes and discover all the wildlife that calls it home! Visit Osprey nests and Terrapin turtle nesting sites in this wide open ecosystem that serves as a filtration system to Narragansett Bay. Great Blue Herrings and Snowy Egrets dot the banks and landscape as we paddle the perimeter of the tidal marsh. We will paddle north from the small boat ramp along route 114 and explore the marsh and its tributaries.

As we get deeper into the marsh the hum of the traffic and civilization fades away and the buzz of the marsh comes alive! Watch as the Ospreys dive and pluck fish out the water and see how the many creatures of the sea serve as food for our migratory bird population. We will get a chance to get out along the marsh, stretch our legs and view the cages of the terrapin turtle’s nests! 100 Acre Cove is one of those places you must visit to understand its beauty and importance.
