  • Learn to white water kayak with Eastern Mountain Sports Kayak Schools experienced and professional ACA Instructors. Come have a blast on a class 1-2 white water river while you learn the proper skills needed to safely and effectively enjoy this fantastic sport.

    This is a great way to get started in white water, we will spend the first part of the day outfitting you with the right equipment and then move onto some flat-water to learn about basic strokes and boat control. After lunch we will choose a stretch of river to go have some fun. We touch on many skills needed to paddle white water, but our focus is about having a good time and enjoying the thrill of white water and the scenery around us.

    Prerequisite
    Must meet essential eligibility criteria and be fit enough for a full day outdoor experience. Age limit 14 and up. Previous paddling experience is not necessary but encouraged .

    Includes
    White water boats or sit on tops are provided, helmets, wetsuits/dry suit, life preservers, paddle, paddle jacket, and paddle shoes, any shuttle transport back to your vehicle.

    Does Not Include
    lodging, transportation, meals, personal gear and clothing. Please bring lunch, snacks, liquid, transport to the start, change of clothing, towel ,small dry bag to carry in your boat, glasses retaining Strap and nose plug

    WHAT TO BRING?

    Shop for Gear!
    Please come dressed for the weather and prepared with the appropriate gear and clothing for your kayak program. Below is a list of gear and clothing recommended by the Eastern Mountain Sports Kayak School. If you have any questions please call 800-310-4504.

    Neoprene long or short sleeve top
    Neoprene is recommended. Any non-cotton material is appropriate as well.


    Non-cotton pants or shorts
    This will depend on the weather and season. Wetsuits are available from the Kayak School for spring, summer and early fall paddling. Drysuits are used for cold weather paddling.


    Water shoes
    Can be provided by the Kayak School upon request. No open toed shoes please.
    Food and Water
  • Lunch and snacks (sandwich, chips, bars, etc...)
  • 1 liter or more of water

    Kayak School will provide
