White Water Kayaking Trips

  • So you have taken some courses and are looking to gain some experience on local rivers need someone to help you get ready to venture out on your own then this is the place to start, the rivers listed are some of the samplers we use but we will be paddling solid grade 2 water with short class 3 sections or drops. We will meet at the put in or take out and deal with often the most interesting part of any trip the shuttle. We will then move onto the river and go paddle, during the day we will offer coaching as the environment dictates.

    Includes
    White water boats or sit on tops are provided, helmets, wetsuits/dry suit, life preservers, paddle, paddle jacket, and paddle shoes, any shuttle transport back to your vehicle.
    Prerequisite
    Must meet essential eligibility criteria and be fit enough for a full day outdoor experience. Age limit 14 and up. Must be comfortable paddling on Class 2 water.

    Does Not Include
    lodging, transportation, meals, personal gear and clothing. Please bring lunch, snacks, liquid, transport to the start, change of clothing, towel ,small dry bag to carry in your boat, glasses retaining Strap and nose plug

    Shop for Gear!
    Please come dressed for the weather and prepared with the appropriate gear and clothing for your kayak program. Below is a list of gear and clothing recommended by the Eastern Mountain Sports Kayak School. If you have any questions please call 800-310-4504.

    Neoprene long or short sleeve top
    Neoprene is recommended. Any non-cotton material is appropriate as well.


    Non-cotton pants or shorts
    This will depend on the weather and season. Wetsuits are available from the Kayak School for spring, summer and early fall paddling. Drysuits are used for cold weather paddling.


    Water shoes
    Can be provided by the Kayak School upon request. No open toed shoes please.

  • Lunch and snacks (sandwich, chips, bars, etc...)
  • 1 liter or more of water

    Kayak School will provide
